Case Study
Patient J.G. came to the National Hair Institute in 2006 as a 47 year old with a type 3V male pattern hair loss. The aim was to replace the front hair line to a type 1 male pattern with no bitemporal recession as is commonly found for females with a full head of hair. In the first procedure (April 2006) 2366 grafts were placed into the frontal area. The hair grew through in the year following and was considered a success. Following this a second procedure was performed with 1810 grafts (Feb 2008) to the crown region.
J.G. now has the appearance of a relatively full head of hair with a typical female hairline. She may on a case by case basis be available to meet with other members of the transgender community to discuss the pros and cons of hair transplantation and her experiences with NHI. Please discuss this with our medical director during the consultation.
